#563 - Coreopsis pubescens 'Sunshine Superman' (Sunshine Superman Coreopsis)

I think it is always good to have a good amount of diversity in our gardens, even if it means having a few different species of yellow-flowering Coreopsis. Another great one to plant is the species Coreopsis pubescens, with its fuzzy leaves and bright gold daisies with orangish centers, produced over several months late spring through fall. This native perennial's common name is Star Tickseed, called so because of its ?Star-like? green involucre bracts at the base of the flower. Sunshine Superman is a selection made by North Creek Nurseries in Landenburg, PA. It is more compact and lower growing than the species.
